More than 62000 students were allotted seats in the first round while nearly 44000 students are seeking upgradation in the 2nd round. DU Vacant Seats 2025
The DU Vacant seats list for the Round 2 UG admission counselling is released on 24-Jul-2025 (05:00 pm). According to official data released for the academic year 2025–26, 62,565 students have secured seats in DU 1st round admission. The dataset consists of 34,014 female and 28,551 male students, indicating an ongoing pattern of greater female enrollment in Delhi University’s UG admissions.
DU officials verified that among all confirmed admissions, 16,126 students have secured their seats, whereas a significant portion, 43,741 candidates, has chosen the upgrade option. A significant point of this round is the acceptance of 949 single female children and 143 orphan applicants, which includes 77 girls and 66 boys.

Delhi University Vacant Seats 2025 List PDF
DU announced the first undergraduate program seat allocation list on July 19. Seats have been granted to candidates from several categories, including UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, Sikh Minorities, PwBD, Kashmiri Migrants (KM), Single Girl Child, and Orphan (Male and Female). According to the category-specific data, the university identified 1325 allocations for girl children, whereas 259 orphan applicants, 127 females, and 132 males were assigned seats.

How to Change Preferences Based On DU Vacant Seats
Following the announcement of the first vacant seats in the DU UG Admission, a two-day window will be accessible to change your preference based on the available seats in the list. Let’s look at how we can change our course or college preferences based on the vacant seats listed below.
1. Following the first round of seat allocation, you may change your preferences based on available seats in the second round. This could include adding new preferences or eliminating existing ones.
2. Log on to the DU admissions portal and enter your preferences. AFter logging in, Navigate to the preference modification section and change your choices to reflect your new preferences.
3. Submit changes before the DU deadline for the second round of allocation. Make sure you meet the eligibility conditions for the new preferences you’ve selected. Your modified preferences will be considered based on seat availability in the second round.
