Question

Who among the following built the 'Qutub Minar'?

A.

Qutubuddin Aibak

B.

Iltutmish

C.

Firozshah Tughlaq

D.

All of the above

Correct option is D

The construction of the Qutub Minar was initiated by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the founder of the Mamluk Dynasty, in 1199 CE. However, he could only complete the base of the tower. His successor, Iltutmish, completed the next three storeys. Later, Firoz Shah Tughlaq restored the Qutub Minar and added the fifth and final storey after parts of the minar were damaged due to lightning. Therefore, all three rulers contributed to the construction and renovation of the Qutub Minar, making option (d) correct.
