Question

M is two times as efficient as N. M can complete a work in 66 days less than N. If both of them work together, then in how many days will the same work be completed?

A.

123 days

B.

44 days

C.

132 days

D.

46 days

Correct option is B

Given:
Efficiency of M : Efficiency of N = 2 : 1
M can complete a work in 66 days less than N.
Concept Used:
If the total work is constant, then
Efficiency ∝ (1/time)
Formula Used:
Total work = efficiency × total time
Solution:
Efficiency of M : Efficiency of N = 2 : 1
Time taken by M : Time taken by N = 1 : 2
According to the question:
=> 1 unit = 66 days
Time taken by M = 66 days
Total work = 66 × 2 = 132 units
Required time to work together = 132/3= 44 days
