PM Modi Announces 10 Lakh Recruitment in 1.5 years
On 14th June 2022, the Government made two decisions- “on a mission mode” to recruit 10 lakh personnel and Agnipath to bring 46,000 youth into the Armed Forces every year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Central Government would be recruiting 10 lakh personnel within 18 months i.e. by December 2023 “on a mission mode”. This is gonna be a major drive after recruitment to government jobs was derailed following the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister after reviewing the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries has made an announcement for 10 lakh recruitment. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has initiated steps to fill up vacancies in its various departments.
The target of ‘10 Lakh Jobs’ in 18 months, means 1,850 Jobs Daily, Recruitment Agencies have to ramp up their capacity to meet up the target before the deadline. As per the Cabinet secretary, Rajiv Gauba, the Prime Minister’s review meeting comes more than two months after he had suggested the secretaries of the government at the Centre for taking the immediate steps to fill up existing vacancies in various ministries and departments. Various government recruitment agencies including Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the Railways have their work cut out now for the 10 lakh jobs target fixed by the Prime Minister.
