Tamil Language Aptitude Test

  • This is the first stage and is qualifying in nature
  • The paper consists of 80 questions for 80 marks
  • Duration: 80 minutes (1 hour 20 minutes)
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 32 (40%)
  • The marks obtained here are not added to the final merit list, but clearing this stage is mandatory to move ahead.

Mains Written Examination

The written exam is the most important part of the TNUSRB Jail Warder exam pattern. It included two sections:

1. General knowledge –  45 questions for 45 marks

  • Covers topics from Tamil Nadu Government school textbooks up to Class 10th.

TNUSRB Jail Warder Physical Test 2025

Candidates who clear the written examination will move on to the Physical Test, which is a crucial stage in the TNUSRB Jail Warder Recruitment 2025. This stage is divided into three parts:

1. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

The first step is measuring the candidate’s height and chest (for males)

Male Height:

  • SC/ST = 167 cm
  • Others = 170 cm

Female Height: 

  • SC/ST = 157 cm
  • Others = 159 cm

Chest (Male Only):

  • Relaxed = 81 cm
  • Expanded = 86 cm

2. Physical Endurance Test (PET)

This stage checks stamina and consistency of candidates.

  • Male: 1500 meters running in 7 minutes
  • Ex-Servicemen: 1500 meters running in 8 minutes
  • Female: 400 meters running in 2 minutes 30 seconds

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates must perform different physical tasks to prove their fitness.

  • Male: Long Jump, Rope Climbing, Running (100 m/400 m)
  • Female: Long Jump, Throwing Cricket Ball, Running (100 m / 200 m)
  • Ex-Servicemen: Long Jump, Running (100 m)
