TNUSRB Fireman Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The TNUSRB Fireman Recruitment 2025 involves a multi-stage selection procedure to ensure only qualified and physically fit candidates are appointed. Each stage must be cleared to progress to the next, and the final merit list will be prepared based on overall performance. The stages of the selection process are as follows:

1. Tamil Language Eligibility Test 

• This test is qualifying in nature.
• The paper will have 80 objective-type questions for 80 marks.
• Duration: 80 minutes (1 hour 20 minutes)
• Minimum qualifying marks: 40%
• Scores obtained here will not be counted in the final merit list but are mandatory to qualify for the main exam.

2. Written Examination

• Conducted for candidates who clear the Tamil Language Test.
• The exam is divided into two parts:

• Duration: 80 minutes
• Candidates must secure at least 25 marks to qualify

3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates must meet the minimum physical standards as prescribed.

For Men:

• Height: 

• OC, BC, BC (M), MBC/DNC – Minimum 170 cm
• SC, SC (A), ST – Minimum 167 cm

• Chest: 

• Normal – Minimum 81 cm
• Expansion – Minimum 5 cm (i.e., at least 86 cm on expansion)

4. Physical Endurance Test (PET)

This stage is a qualifying stage in the TNSURB Fireman Recruitment 2025. This test evaluates the stamina and fitness level of candidates through a long-distance running event.

• Men Candidates: 1500 metres run to be completed within 7 minutes

Candidates who fail to meet the minimum time limit will be disqualified from the selection process.

5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Important Points:

• Rope climbing is compulsory for all male candidates, with three attempts allowed.
• For Long Jump or High Jump, candidates get three chances; the best attempt will be considered.
• For the 100 metres or 400 metres run, candidates will get only one attempt.

6. Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must present their original documents, including educational certificates, community certificate, sports/NCC/NSS proof (if applicable), and other required documents.

7. Medical Examination

The final stage is a medical test; candidates shortlisted after all the stages will undergo a health check to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the Fireman role. Only those who clear this stage will be considered for the final appointment.
