SSC MTS Exam Analysis 2026 Of 4th February Exam, Check Asked Questions and Difficulty Level

The SSC MTS Exam 2026 has begun from 4th February 2026 and will be held on 05, 06, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, & 19th February 2026 in multiple shifts across the country. This examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit candidates for Group C Non-Technical posts in various ministries and departments. SSC MTS 2026: Good Attempts & Difficulty Level (1st & 2nd Shift)

Aspirants can check the good attempts and the level of questions asked in today’s exam, which is given in the table below. By checking the number of good attempts and difficulty level, aspirants can get an idea about which part needs focused practice and they can plan their preparation in an more effective way. Many students were able to attempt around 74-79 questions in total in 1st shift and 65-75 questions in 2nd, which is being seen as a good attempt for respective shifts.

SSC MTS Exam Analysis 2026: Section-Wise Review (1st & 2nd Shift)

General English

The English section was easy in both shifts. Most candidates were able to attempt almost all questions with good accuracy. A large number of questions were asked from narration and active–passive voice. Only 2-3 questions came from antonyms and synonyms, which was less compared to previous exams. Overall, English remained a scoring and time-saving section in both shifts.

General Awareness

The GK section had more weightage of current affairs in both shifts. Questions were asked from major events of 2024 and 2025, along with topics like folk dances, Olympics, Youth Games, awards, and music. In Shift 2, some aspirants felt this section was moderate to a little tough, though most questions were direct. A question related to Article 157 of the Constitution was also asked.

Numerical & Mathematical Ability

Maths showed some variation between the two shifts. In Shift 1, maths was considered tough and lengthy, and many students found calculations time consuming. In Shift 2, the level was easy to moderate, but still required good calculation speed. Overall, maths remained the most challenging section for many candidates.

Reasoning Ability & Problem Solving

Reasoning was the easiest part of the paper in both shifts. The questions were direct and did not involve much complexity. In Shift 2, around 3-4 questions were asked from mirror images, while other questions were from common topics like series, analogy, and coding-decoding. Most students attempted nearly all questions in this section.

SSC MTS Exam 2026 Shift Timings

The SSC MTS exam is being conducted in four shifts daily, and each shift is of 90 minutes duration. Candidates must reach the exam center before the reporting time to avoid any last-minute problem.
