SSC GD Exam Date 2026 Out, Exam Starts From 27 April

SSC has officially announced the New Exam Dates for SSC GD 2026, which were postponed earlier. The Computer-Based Test for GD Constable in CAPFs and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Exam, 2026 will be conducted from 27th April 2026 to 30th May 2026 at various centres across the country. Along with the exam dates, the Commission has also introduced the new ‘Week Preference’ facility for candidates to select their preferred exam window.

On 11th April 2026, SSC released an official notice consisting of the CBT Exam schedule and week preference details. The CBT starts from 27th April 2026 and it shall continue till 30th May 2026. The exam is expected to be held in 4 shifts each day. Check the week numbers and exam dates below.

1. Visit ssc.gov.in.
2. On the homepage, go to the Latest News’ section.
3. Look for the notice titled ‘Schedule of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026’.
4. Click on the PDF link.
5. The official exam date notice will open on your screen.
6. Download and save the PDF for future reference.

When will SSC release the City Intimation and Admit Card 2026?

The Staff Selection Commission will release the City Intimation and Call Letter on its official website a few days before the exam. Now that we know the exam date, it is expected that the City Intimation slip will be released by 17th April 2026, whereas the Admit Card will be released by 24th April 2026. Once released, candidates will be able to download it by using their registration number and password.

SSC GD Selection Process 2026

The SSC GD selection process is conducted in multiple stages to recruit candidates for the CAPFs, the SSF, and the Assam Rifles. Candidates must qualify at each stage to move to the next.

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT)

It is an objective-type online exam covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

3. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Measurement of height, chest (for males), and weight as per prescribed standards.

4. Medical Examination (DME/RME)

Detailed medical check-up to ensure candidates meet the required health standards.

5. Document Verification

Verification of educational, identity, and category certificates.

Final selection is based on CBT performance, subject to qualifying for PET/PST, medical fitness, and successful document verification.
