Candidates who qualified in the Tier 1 Computer-Based Test are now shortlisted for the Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The PET/PST will be held from 21st to 27th July 2026. Candidates can appear for the PET/PST along with their admit card at their allotted centre.

SSC CPO Physical Test 2026 Dates Out
The Physical Test is a mandatory qualifying stage, and candidates must clear both the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) to proceed to the tier 2 examination. The SSC CPO Physical Test 2026 is conducted by Delhi Police and candidates must start preparing accordingly. The PET and PST tests evaluate whether candidates are physically fit to handle the duties of a Sub-Inspector. Both stages must be cleared to proceed to Paper 2 of the SSC CPO Recruitment 2025-26.

SSC CPO PST 2026 Criteria: Height and Chest Measurement
The PST evaluates the physical measurements of each candidate, male and female, as per the following criteria:

Weight Standards
For the SSC CPO Physical Test 2026, candidates are required to maintain a body weight proportionate to their height to ensure overall physical fitness.

- Candidates who are extremely underweight or overweight may face disqualification during the medical stage
- The final assessment is made by the medical authority based on overall fitness standards
SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test (PET) 2026
The PET measures a candidate’s stamina, speed, and physical strength through a series of mandatory events, as explained below:
PET Events for Male Candidates
All five events are compulsory for male candidates. Failing even one event results in PET failure.

Special Rules in SSC CPO Physical Test 2026
There are certain exemptions for ex-servicemen, as well as certain rules and regulations to be followed in case of tattoos and pregnancy. The special rules have been discussed in detail below:
Ex-Servicemen:
Ex-servicemen are fully exempt from the Physical Endurance Test (PET). However, they must still clear the Physical Standard Test (PST) and pass the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). There is no relaxation in height or chest standards for ex-servicemen.
Pregnancy Rules for Female Candidates:
SSC provides fair conditions for female candidates who are pregnant at the time of the physical test. If a candidate is found to be pregnant, she is temporarily disqualified but is NOT permanently rejected. She is allowed to appear for the physical test 6 weeks after delivery, and her vacancy remains reserved as per SSC rules.
Tattoo Rules:
Tattoos are permitted under SSC CPO Recruitment, provided the following conditions are met:
- The tattoo must contain only religious symbols or names.
- It should be located only on the inner forearm or the back of the hand.
- The size must not exceed one-fourth (1/4th) of the respective body part.
- Offensive or inappropriate content in any tattoo will lead to disqualification.
