• Data Entry Errors: Many students rely on cyber cafes or third parties to fill out forms. Errors made during this process, such as spelling mistakes or incorrect ID numbers, cannot be corrected, leaving aspirants helpless.

2. Technical Glitches and Biometric Issues

In addition to the OTR edit problem, technical issues on the SSC portal have also caused distress.

Biometric Verification Failures:

Several candidates have reported problems during face authentication, which is part of the biometric verification process. Due to system errors or device compatibility issues, students are unable to complete their verification, preventing them from proceeding with applications.

Aadhaar Linking Errors:

Some aspirants have experienced incorrect Aadhaar mapping, particularly in cases where siblings have mistakenly had their biometric data cross-linked. This error not only delays the process but may also affect the validity of their applications.

The SSC has taken positive steps in recent years—such as introducing a new portal and implementing normalization formulas—but much more needs to be done.
