SSC CGL 2025 Post Preference Started @ssc.gov.in, Option cum Preference Link Active

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the Option-cum-Preference submission process for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2025 (CGL 2025) today, 9 March 2026. Candidates who appeared in the Tier-II exam can now submit their post and department preferences through the official website ssc.gov.in.

Earlier, the Commission had released an important notice on 6 March 2026 informing candidates about the schedule for filling the preference form before the declaration of the final result.

Now, candidates have to submit their Option-cum-Preference for posts and departments through their Candidate Login on the SSC portal. This step is mandatory for candidates to be considered in the final merit list and post allocation. The preference submission facility will remain active only for a till 12th March 2026, so candidates are advised to complete the process well before the deadline.

How to Submit SSC CGL Post Preference Form 2025?

Candidates can follow the steps below to submit their preferences:

1. Visit the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in.
2. Log in using your Registration ID and Password.
3. Go to the “My Application” tab available in the dashboard.
4. Click on the Option-cum-Preference form for CGL 2025.
5. Select the posts and departments in your order of preference.
6. Review the form carefully and click on the Submit button to finalize it.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates should keep the following points in mind while submitting the preference form:

1. The preference form can be revised only during the window from 9 March to 12 March 2026.
2. The last submitted preference will be treated as final.
3. Candidates must click the “Submit” button after selecting preferences, the form will not be considered.
4. Candidates who do not submit their preferences within the deadline will not be considered for the final result or post allocation.
5. Candidates must ensure they meet the required physical and medical standards for the posts they select.
