BLW Apprentice Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must fulfill the required educational qualifications and age limits as mentioned below.

Educational Qualification

• Non-ITI Candidates: Must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or equivalent with at least 50% marks from a recognized board.
• ITI Candidates: In addition to passing Class 10th with 50% marks, candidates must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an NCVT or SCVT recognized institution.

Candidates awaiting results or mark sheets issued after the notification date (05 July 2025) are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit (as on 05 August 2025)

• Non-ITI: 15 to 22 years
• ITI (Excluding Welder & Carpenter): 15 to 24 years
• Welder & Carpenter (ITI): 15 to 22 years

BLW Indian Railways Apprentice Selection Process

The selection will be done purely on merit basis. A merit list will be created based on the percentage of marks in the 10th standard examination.

• No additional weightage will be given to ITI marks.
• Possession of the ITI certificate is mandatory for ITI applicants.
• Tie-breaker rule: If two candidates have equal marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If age is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will be selected.
