• Light – Reflection and Refraction: Laws of reflection, image formation by spherical mirrors (concave and convex), mirror formula, magnification. Laws of refraction, refractive index, refraction by spherical lenses, lens formula, magnification, and power of a lens.
• The Human Eye and the Colourful World: Functioning of the human eye, defects of vision (myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopia) and their correction using lenses. Refraction of light through a prism, dispersion of white light, atmospheric refraction, and scattering of light (Tyndall effect, blue color of the sky).
