The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the JKSSB Staff Nurse Eligibility Criteria 2026 along with Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026 for various posts under the Health and Medical Education Department. JKSSB Eligibility Criteria 2026 Details

Applicants must satisfy all the eligibility requirements prescribed by JKSSB before applying for any post. The eligibility conditions mainly include domicile, educational qualification, age limit, and category-specific provisions.

Domicile Requirement

Candidates must fulfill the following domicile conditions to be eligible for the recruitment:

• The applicant must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
• A valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority is mandatory.
• The domicile certificate must be issued on or before 09 October 2026.
• Candidates without a valid domicile certificate will not be considered eligible.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification for the respective post. All qualifications and required certificates must be obtained on or before 09 October 2026. The post-wise educational qualifications are provided below.

Important Qualification Rules

• All educational qualifications and technical certificates must be acquired on or before 09 October 2026.
• Candidates claiming an equivalent qualification must produce an Equivalence Certificate issued by the competent authority.
• Candidates possessing degrees or diplomas from recognized institutions outside the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir (except Central Universities) must submit a Bonafide Certificate issued by the Controller or Registrar of the concerned University.
• For Senior Canning Attendant and Horticulture Technician Grade-IV, the prescribed training certificate must be issued by a Central Government, State Government, UT Government Department, UGC-recognized University, ICAR Institute, or any other recognized government authority.

Age Limit

JKSSB has prescribed category-wise upper age limits for all posts covered under Advertisement Notification No. 08 of 2026. The age of candidates will be calculated as on 01 January 2026. The category-wise age criteria are provided below.

Category and Reservation Requirements

• Candidates seeking reservation benefits must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format before the cut-off date.
• Category certificates for SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS, and OBC must be valid and issued on or before 09 October 2026.
• Ex-Servicemen reservation is applicable for posts carrying pay up to Level-6E (₹35,900–₹1,13,500).
• Ex-Servicemen must submit Form-XIV issued by the competent authority along with an affidavit before a First Class Judicial Magistrate confirming that they have not previously availed ESM horizontal reservation for government employment.
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) must possess a valid disability certificate.
  Eligible PwBD candidates can avail compensatory time and scribe facility as per the provisions of the official notification. The scribe must satisfy the prescribed eligibility conditions.
