MPSC Drug Inspector Exam 2026 Cancelled Over Paper Leak, Re-Exam Soon

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has cancelled the recruitment process for Drug Inspector, Group-B posts under the Food and Drug Administration Department. The decision comes after complaints alleging malpractice in the screening examination conducted on 22 March 2026. Following a preliminary inquiry, the Commission has decided to conduct the examination again to ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment process.

Why Was the MPSC Drug Inspector Exam Cancelled

MPSC received complaints alleging that some candidates had access to the question paper before the 22 March 2026 screening exam. The matter was referred to the Mumbai Police for inquiry.
The preliminary investigation found prima facie evidence of malpractice involving at least one candidate. Considering these concerns, MPSC cancelled the recruitment process to ensure fairness, transparency and examination integrity.

Recruitment Had Already Reached the Interview Stage

The MPSC Drug Inspector recruitment had progressed to the interview stage before being cancelled. The screening exam was held on 22 March 2026, and its result was announced on 12 June 2026.
A total of 506 candidates were shortlisted, while 488 appeared for the interviews held from 1 July to 22 July 2026. A provisional merit list was also released before the recruitment was cancelled.

Fresh MPSC Drug Inspector Exam to Be Conducted

MPSC has decided to conduct a fresh screening examination for the recruitment. The Commission will announce the new examination date separately.
Candidates who had applied for the Drug Inspector recruitment earlier do not need to submit a fresh application. They will also not be required to pay another examination fee for the re-examination.

What Happens Next?

With the earlier recruitment process being nullified, candidates will have to appear for the fresh screening examination once the Commission announces the schedule. The recruitment will proceed according to the revised process and subsequent stages notified by MPSC.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official MPSC website for the re-examination date, examination instructions and other updates rather than relying on unverified social media information.
