Haryana Police Vacancy 2026, 30% Posts Vacant, 15,000+ Vacancies to Be Filled in 6 Months

Haryana Police is preparing for a major recruitment expansion as 25,631 posts, nearly 30% of the sanctioned strength, are currently vacant in the police department. The state government has set a target to gradually fill the vacant positions, with more than 15,000 recruits expected over the coming six months. Haryana Police Vacancy 2026: 15,000+ Posts Expected

Haryana Police is set to witness a major recruitment drive, with more than 15,000 vacancies expected to be filled in the coming months. According to the newspaper report, 25,631 of Haryana Police’s 84,765 sanctioned posts are vacant, including 13,948 Constable, 7,788 ASI, 6,872 Head Constable, 1,051 SI, 142 Inspector and 70 DSP posts. Recruitment for around 5,600 posts is underway, with another 4,000 posts expected by November and approximately 5,500 posts proposed for March 2027, taking the total recruitment to 15,000+ posts.

Haryana Police Plans Regular Recruitment Every Year

Haryana Police is planning to adopt regular annual recruitment to prevent vacancies from accumulating. Police Director General Ajay Singhal has indicated that a recruitment schedule for the next six months has been prepared. The department aims to gradually reduce the manpower shortage and fill all sanctioned vacancies by 2030.
The department is also taking steps to strengthen the police force through additional manpower. The report mentions that 11,052 Special Police Officers and 10,196 Home Guard volunteers have been deployed to support the existing police force in maintaining law and order.
