Delhi Police Constable Driver Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2025

The Staff Selection Commission and Delhi Police has released the Delhi Police Constable Driver Recruitment 2025 Notification on 24th September 2025 and the exam will be conducted in December, 2025 / January, 2026. Delhi Police Constable Driver Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2025

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Delhi Police Constable (Driver) Examination to recruit male candidates for driving duties in Delhi Police. To succeed in this competitive exam, candidates must have a clear understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern. The syllabus covers topics from General Awareness, General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, and Road Sense/Vehicle Maintenance, while the exam pattern outlines the structure of the Computer-Based Examination (CBE).

Delhi Police Constable Driver Exam Pattern 2025

  • The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will be of Class 10th Level.
  • The paper will be divided into four sections: General Awareness, General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, Road Sense & Vehicle Maintenance
  • Each section will test a different skill set required for the job of a Constable Driver.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25.

Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE & MT)

Candidates who clear the Computer-Based Test (CBT) will have to appear for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE & MT). This stage will assess the candidate’s fitness and physical ability through specific parameters.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates must meet the qualifying standards as per their age category to pass the PET round.

  • Up to 30 years: 1600 metres race in 7 minutes, long jump 12½ feet, high jump 3½ feet
  • Above 30 to 40 years: 1600 metres race in 8 minutes, long jump 11½ feet, high jump 3¼ feet
  • Above 40 years: 1600 metres race in 9 minutes, long jump 10½ feet, high jump 3 feet

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Candidates who pass the Endurance Test will undergo the Measurement Test. They must meet the required physical standards set by the Delhi Police.

  • Height: 170 cm
  • Chest: 81 – 85 cm
  • Chest Expansion: Minimum 4 cm
  • Height Expansion: Minimum 5 cm

Trade Test

The Trade Test is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s driving skills and knowledge of traffic rules. It consists of different practical and theoretical components.

1. Driving Test (Light Motor Vehicle)

  • Forward Driving – 20 marks
  • Reverse Driving – 20 marks
  • Parking – 10 marks
  • Total Marks: 50
  • Qualifying Marks: 25

2. Driving Test (Heavy Motor Vehicle)

  • Forward Driving – 20 marks
  • Reverse Driving – 20 marks
  • Total Marks: 50
  • Qualifying Marks: 25

3. Knowledge test (Road Sense & Traffic Rules)

  • Includes questions on lane discipline, overtaking, map reading, and shortest route assessment – 25 marks (Qualifying: 12.5 marks)

4. Vehicle Maintenance Knowledge

  • Covers tyre pressure, oil and coolant levels, battery maintenance, and belt inspection – 25 marks (Qualifying: 12.5 marks)
  • Total Marks for Trade Test: 150

Medical Test

The Medical Test is the final stage to assess the candidate’s health and physical fitness for the Delhi Police Driver post.

Candidates must be in good health and free from any diseases or deformities.

  1. Vision Standard:
  • Better Eye – 6/6 (without glasses)
  • Worse Eye – 6/12 (without glasses)

Candidates must not have colour blindness or any vision defects that affect driving.

Delhi Police Driver Syllabus

The syllabus is set at the Class 10th standard level. Candidates must prepare for both general aptitude and job-specific knowledge. Along with the written exam, candidates must also clear Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT) and a Driving Test to qualify for the final selection.

Part A: General Awareness

This section checks the candidate’s awareness of current events and everyday observations. Topics include:

  1. Current Events of National and International Importance
  2. History, Culture, and Geography of India
  3. Indian Polity and Constitution
  4. Indian Economy
  5. Scientific Research and Discoveries
  6. Sports and General Knowledge related to neighboring countries

Part B: General Intelligence

This part tests analytical skills and logical reasoning. Topics include:

  1. Analogies and Similarities
  2. Spatial Visualization and Orientation
  3. Visual Memory and Discrimination
  4. Relationship Concepts
  5. Arithmetical Reasoning and Figural Classification
  6. Non-Verbal Series
  7. Coding-Decoding
  8. Arithmetic Number Series

Part C: Numerical Ability

Focuses on basic arithmetic and numerical problem-solving skills. Topics include:

  1. Number Systems
  2. Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals, and Fractions
  3. Relationship between Numbers
  4. Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages
  5. Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest
  6. Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Time and Work
  7. Fundamental Arithmetic Operations

Part D: Road Sense & Vehicle Maintenance

This is a job-specific section to test knowledge of road safety and driving. Topics include:

  1. Road Sense and Traffic Rules
  2. Vehicle Maintenance
  3. Road Signs and Signals
  4. Vehicle & Environmental Pollution (Petrol, Diesel, CNG)
  5. Noise Pollution
