AP Scientific Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2026

Age Limit
For the Scientific Assistant posts, a candidate must not have attained 44 years of age as on 1 July 2026. In other words, the candidate must have been born on or after 2 July 1982.
Age Relaxation
The notification provides the following upper-age relaxations:
- Up to 5 years for candidates belonging to the EWS category.
- Up to 5 years for BC Non-Creamy Layer, SC and ST candidates.
- Up to 5 years, limited to the length of regular service, for eligible AP State Government employees.
- Three years in addition to the length of service rendered in the Army, Navy or Air Force.
- Three years in addition to qualifying service as a whole-time NCC Cadet Corps Instructor, subject to the conditions specified.
- Up to 3 years for eligible retrenched temporary employees of the State Census Department.
Medical Standards
Candidates are required to meet the prescribed medical standards. The notification specifies 6/6 distant vision in both eyes and near vision of 0/5 (Snellen) in both eyes. Each eye must have a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or certain morbid conditions of the eyes or lids are specified as disqualifications.
