What is the Eligibility Criteria?
Candidates must fulfil the prescribed age, educational and medical requirements as mentioned in the notification. The required educational qualification varies according to the Scientific Assistant discipline.

Age Limit
For the Scientific Assistant posts, a candidate must not have attained 44 years of age as on 1 July 2026. In other words, the candidate must have been born on or after 2 July 1982.
Age Relaxation
The notification provides the following upper-age relaxations:
- Up to 5 years for candidates belonging to the EWS category.
- Up to 5 years for BC Non-Creamy Layer, SC and ST candidates.
- Up to 5 years, limited to the length of regular service, for eligible AP State Government employees.
- Three years in addition to the length of service rendered in the Army, Navy or Air Force.
- Three years in addition to qualifying service as a whole-time NCC Cadet Corps Instructor, subject to the conditions specified.
- Up to 3 years for eligible retrenched temporary employees of the State Census Department.
Medical Standards
Candidates are required to meet the prescribed medical standards. The notification specifies 6/6 distant vision in both eyes and near vision of 0/5 (Snellen) in both eyes.
