Eligibility Criteria For AP Forest Section Officer Recruitment 2026

Candidates interested in applying for the APPSC Forest Section Officer 2026 Posts should meet the required educational qualifications, physical standards, and age limit prescribed in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

• A Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Forestry, Horticulture, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology or Agriculture as a subject; or
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Age Limit:

Candidates applying for the APPSC Forest Department FSO Recruitment should meet the age limit prescribed in the official notification. The cutoff date to calculate the age limit is 01 July 2025.

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years

Age relaxation of up to 10 years will be provided for the SC/ST Carried Forward Vacancies.

AP Uniform Posts Age Relaxation Extended to 30 September 2027

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has extended the two-year upper age limit relaxation for direct recruitment to various uniform posts through APPSC and other recruiting agencies. The relaxation, earlier valid up to 30 September 2026, will now continue up to 30 September 2027. The age concession available under Rule 12 of the A.P. State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 will also continue to apply to eligible candidates.

APPSC FSO Selection Process 2026

The APPSC Forest Section Officer (FSO) recruitment 2026 will be conducted through a single-level CBRT, followed by a walking test and medical examination for candidates shortlisted as per the prescribed rules.

• No Screening Test: APPSC will not conduct any Screening Test, irrespective of the number of applications received.
• Single-Level Examination: The recruitment will be based on a single-level examination.
• Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode.
• Normalisation: If the examination is held in multiple sessions, APPSC may adopt a normalisation process wherever necessary and applicable.
• Shortlisting Ratio: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 with reference to the total number of vacancies, as per the applicable rules.
• Walking Test: Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a walking test.
• Medical Examination: Candidates proceeding to the next stage will also be required to undergo a medical examination.

APPSC FSO Prelims Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination is of Degree Standard and is objective type. It consists of a qualifying test and three main papers.

There will be negative marking in the written examination. For every wrong answer, one-third of the marks prescribed for that question will be deducted, as specified in the notification.

Candidates shortlisted as the Forest Section Officer will get an attractive amount from Rs. 32,670 to Rs. 1,01,970. Apart from the basic pay, employees will get additional benefits like HRA, TA, DA, Security Allowance, Uniform Allowance, Risk Allowance, etc, from the government.
