The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Recruitment Eligibility

For the position of Joint Director officers should fulfill the following criteria

  • Regularly holding similar positions in the parent cadre or department
  • Five years of regular service in the grade issued after the appointment regularly holding positions in pay band-3, earning between Rs. 1560O and Rs. 3910O/-, with a grade pay of Rs. 54OO/- (I-level 10) or it’s equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and

Having the following experience and educational background

  • A Master’s degree in agriculture or agricultural extension from an accredited academic institution, master’s program in rural management, or master’s of
    Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from a reputable college, institute, or master’s program in agricultural and business management, horticulture, agroforestry, vegetable sciences, or a degree in agriculture engineering from an institution or university that is recognized.
  • Three years of experience directing, supervising, or carrying out In the administrative domain, agricultural extension, or an extension program Management; or Teaching expertise in agriculture or extension at the college or university level program with a focus on training extension employees and farmers.
  • Three years of expertise in creating and running training programs for the extension (Desirable).

Note: It should not be possible to consider the departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct path of promotion for an appointment on deputation (including a short-term contract). Deputationists will also not be qualified to take into account a promotion for appointment.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Recruitment Deputation Period

Time of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre position held just before this appointment in the same organization or department as the one getting appointed. The typical duration of the Central Government is four years. When it comes to short-term contracts, the age restriction for deputation appointments (including those made before the closing date for applications) cannot be more than eleven or six years old.

Duties associated with the Post of Joint Director

The following are the duties associated with the Post of Joint Director (Extn)

i) To support the development and execution of programs relating to agricultural extension across the nation.

ii) To assess and track the state of implementation of the agricultural extension schemes, such as Extension Reforms, Agri-Clinics & Agri-Business Centers, Kisan Centers, Agricultural Extension through the Media, Training Programs through National, Regional, and State Agricultural Training Institutions—through Review Meetings, Field Visits, Stakeholder Reports, etc.

Note: Officers chosen will be able to choose between having their pay scaled in line with the Department of Personnel and Training or receiving their grade pay plus deputation (duty) allowance.

Officers who meet the eligibility requirements and are willing may submit their applications via the appropriate channel using the included proforma (in triplicate or a set of three copies) and the required documentation within 60 days of the Rojgar Samachar advertisement’s publication date, to “Under Secretary (Extension), Room No. 17, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.”

Documents required

Various documents are required to be sent along with the application form to the address provided above. Candidates should attach the following documents:

  1. Cadre clearance
  2. Vigilance clearance
  3. An integrity certificate issued by a deputy-level official Secretary/Director, Indian Government
  4. Statement on Major and Minor Penalties Over the Past Ten Years.
  5. Photocopies of the APARs for the previous five years, from 2O8-19 to 2O22-23, duly certified on each page by a government of India officer not lower than the level of an Under Secretary. A “lo Report Certificate” (NRC) for the period may be issued with the APARs of the corresponding prior year (s) if, for whatever reason, the officer’s ACRs/APARs have not been written for a certain year or portion of a year.
  6. Self-attested copies of any document, including experience certificates, degree certificates, and other records
