Age Limit

Candidates are required to ensure they are within their age limit before applying for the SSC JE Exam. Age relaxation beyond the Upper age limit has been provided as per the reservation rules. The minimum age required is 18 years. The applicants should be citizens of any of the following regions. They are eligible to take the exam as per the SSC JE Recruitment if they fulfill any of the criteria of nationality as listed below:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire, Zambia, and Vietnam, intending to settle in India permanently.

SSC JE 2026 Exam Pattern

The SSC JE Exam will be conducted in two papers. Paper 1 will be of 200 marks, and Paper 2 will be 300 marks. Both papers 1 and 2 are multiple-choice questions. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every question attempted wrong by a candidate in paper 1 and in paper 2 there will be a negative marking of 1 mark.

Steps to Apply for SSC JE Recruitment 2026

Interested candidates should follow these steps for an easy application process for SSC JE 2026:

Step 1: Go to the official SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in/).

Step 2: Open the registration link for SSC JE in a new window.

Step 3: Click on the "New User/Register Now" link.

Step 4: Provide basic details like name, parents' names, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number.

Step 5: Submit the online registration form. Make sure to verify all details before submission. You'll receive a Registration ID.

Step 6: Upload your photograph and signature according to SSC guidelines.

Photograph: Taken against a white or light-colored background, size between 4 kb and 12 kb, resolution of 100*120 pixels.

Signature: Black or blue ink on a white sheet, scanned copy in jpg format, size between 1 kb and 12 kb, resolution of 40*60 pixels.

Step 7: Log in with your registered ID and password to complete Part II of the application form.

Step 8: Preview the entire application for any errors before final submission. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited.

Step 9: Click on "Final Submit" and pay the required application fee online via Net-Banking, Credit/Debit cards, BHIM, UPI, etc.

Step 10: It's recommended to download and print copies of the submitted application form for SSC JE.

Documents Required For SSC JE Online Form 2026

Candidates can check all the documents required to submit in the SSC JE application form mentioned below.

Mobile Number – It will be verified using an OTP (One-Time Password).

Email ID – This will also be verified through OTP.

Details of your Class 10th exam – This includes the name of the board, your roll number, and the year you passed.

Disability Certificate Number – Only if you have a benchmark disability.

Aadhaar Number – If you don’t have Aadhaar, you can give any one of these ID numbers (you’ll need to show the original later):

SSC JE 2026 Application Fee

The application fee for candidates applying for the SSC JE is very minimal. While the application fee for the general category is Rs 100, the fees for all other categories like SC/ST /PwD and even the fees for female students, are Nil. The candidates can either pay the application fees online (through Credit, Debit Cards, UPI, and Net Banking) or Offline (through SBI Branch Challan). SSC JE 2026 Salary Structure

Candidates who are successfully chosen for SSC JE will initially assume positions as Junior Engineers within the Group 'B' Non-Gazetted category. The role of an SSC Junior Engineer is widely esteemed across the nation due to its status as a Central Government Job, offering substantial remuneration and benefits.

• The remuneration for newly recruited SSC JE 2026 candidates has been elevated to Rs 44,000 (including all allowances).
