 GATE Exam 2022 : Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of GATE  2022 Exam include a list of parameters such as academic qualification, nationality, age limit and more. To know more, read the details below:

 

Nationality:

  • Candidates having Indian nationality are eligible for the GATE Exam.
  • International candidates belonging to Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia and the United  Arab Emirates(UAE) are also eligible for the GATE Exam.

 

Education Qualification:

As per the Guidelines of GATE, a candidate must have a minimum qualification of 10+2+3.

  • Candidates who have completed any government approved degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts are eligible for the GATE 2022 Examination.
  • Candidates who are in the final year of such programs are also eligible for GATE 2022 Examination.
  • GATE 2022 Exam Eligibility criteria for international candidates is also the same as mentioned above.

Age Limit:

  • There is no age limit criteria defined by the exam conducting authority to appear in the GATE Exam. 

Required Documents:

  • Name, Date of Birth, Valid mobile number, Parent’s name, Valid address with an area pin code.
  • Any ID Proof – PAN/Aadhar card/Driving License/college Id/ Passport/Voter Id.
  • Government approved documents showing your educational qualifications.

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) (i) Carry 1-2 marks each, in every section and paper.

(ii) Negative marking of ⅓ of original marks for every wrong answer.

Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) (i) Carry 1-2 marks each, in every section and paper.

(ii) There is NO negative marking for wrong answers.

(iii)Also there is NO partial credit of marks .

Numerical Answer Type Questions (NATQs) (i) Carry 1-2 marks each, in every section and paper.

(ii) There is NO negative marking for wrong answers.

(iii)Also there is NO partial credit of marks .
