CDS 1 Exam 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility conditions related to nationality, educational qualification, age, gender, and marital status. The complete details of the criteria are given in the table below:

  • A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intent to settle permanently, or

Educational Qualification
  • IMA & OTA- Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • Indian Naval Academy- Engineering degree from a recognised university/institution.

Air Force Academy-

  • Graduation with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level, or
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Age Limit
  • IMA-Unmarried male candidates born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2007.
  • INA-Same date range as IMA, unmarried males only.
  • Air Force Academy-Age between 20 to 24 years (born between 2nd January 2002 and 1st January 2006).
Gender & Marital Status
  • IMA & INA : Only unmarried males.
  • AFA : Both married and unmarried males can apply (but marriage during training is not allowed).
  • OTA : Unmarried males and females.
CDS Physical Standards Applicants must satisfy the prescribed physical requirements:

  • Air Force: 162.5 cm
  • Women: 152 cm
  • Gorkhas & candidates from hill regions: minimum 152 cm

CDS 1 Exam 2026: Selection Process
