    Question

What is the percentage change in the population if the total number of persons was 245000 in 2021 and 294000 in 2022?

    A.

    20% increase

    B.

    16.67% decrease

    C.

    15% increase

    D.

    22% increase

    Correct option is A

    Given:

    Population in 2021 = 2,45,000

    Population in 2022 = 2,94,000

    Formula Used:

    Percentage Change = Change in ValueOriginal Value×100\frac{Change\ in\ Value}{Original\ Value} \times 100

    Solution:

    Change in population in from 2021 to 2022 = 2,94,000 -2,45,000 = 49,000

    Percentage change = 49000245000×100=20% \frac{49000}{245000} \times 100 = 20\%

Thus, Population increases by 20 % from 2021 to 2022.
