    Two trains start from P and Q, respectively, at the same time and run towards each other at a speed of 40 km/h and 30 km/h, respectively. By the time they meet, the first train has covered 80 km more than the other train. Find the distance between P and Q.

    Given:

    Speed of Train 1 (from P) = 40 km/h

    Speed of Train 2 (from Q) = 30 km/h

    Train 1 covers 80 km more than Train 2 when they meet.

    Formula used:

    Speed=DistanceTimeSpeed= \frac{Distance}{Time}​​

    Solution:

    Let the time taken to meat be 'tt' hours

    Distance covered by Train 1 = 40tt

    Distance covered by Train 2 = 30tt 

    The condition gives:

    40t=30t+8040t = 30t + 80 

    40t30t=8040t-30t=80\\ 

    10t=8010t=80 

    t=8t=8 

    Total Distance (D) =( Distance covered by Train 1 + Distance covered by Train 2)

    D = 40t+30t=70t40t+30t=70t (Where t=8t=8)

    D = 70×8=56070\times 8=560 km

    Thus the correct answer is (C)
