    Question

    Two trains of equal length are running on parallel lines in the same direction at speeds of 101 km/h and 65 km/h. The fastertrain passes the slower train in 30 seconds. The length of each train is:

    A.

    137 meters

    B.

    150 meters

    C.

    155 meters

    D.

    152 meters

    Correct option is B

    Given:
    Speed of the faster train = 101 km/h
    Speed of the slower train = 65 km/h
    Time taken by the faster train to pass the slower train = 30 seconds
    Length of each train is the same, and we need to find the length of each train.

    Formula Used:

    Distance = Speed ×\times Time

    Solution:

    Relative Speed = 101 - 65 = 36 km/h

    in m/sec = 36×518=10 m/sec36 \times \frac{5}{18} = 10 \ m /sec

    Now ,

    Distance = 30×10=300 m30\times 10 = 300 \ m

    So, length of the one train = 3002=150 m\frac{300}{2} = 150 \ m
