Let 3 consecutive integers: x, x+1, x+2
As per the question: 3x+5(x+1)+2(x+2)=99
10x+9=99
10x=90
x =9
x+1=9+1=10
x+2= 9+2 = 11
the sum of the original first and third integers = 9+11 = 20
