Question

The sides of a triangle are 82 cm, 18 cm, and 80 cm. What is its area? (in cm²)

A.

670

B.

712

C.

731

D.

720

Correct option is D

Given:

Sides of triangle = 82 cm, 18 cm, 80 cm

Find area

Formula Used:

Semi-perimeter:

s =a+b+c2 \frac{a+b+c}{2}

Area of triangle = s(sa)(sb)(sc)\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}

Solution:

s =82+18+802=1802 \frac{82 + 18 + 80}{2} = \frac{180}{2} = 90

Area of triangle  = 90(9082)(9018)(9080)\sqrt{90(90-82)(90-18)(90-80)}

90×8×72×10\sqrt{90 \times 8 \times 72 \times 10}

720×720\sqrt{720 \times 720}

= 720 cm²
