Solution:
Let the cost of pencil be x and then cost of eraser be y
Then
2x + 3y = 7 …..(1)
5x+6y = 16 …..(2)
Multiplying eq(1) by 5 and eq(2) by 2
10x+ 15y = 35
10x+12y = 32
Subtracting equations we get y=1
Then x = 2
Cost of one pencil and one eraser = x + y = 2 +1 = ₹3
