Question

The capacity of a cuboidal tank of water is 62000 litres. Find the breadth of the tank, if its length and depth are 2.5 m and 10 m, respectively.

A.

2.38 m

B.

2.58 m

C.

2.28 m

D.

2.48 m

Correct option is D

Given:

Capacity of cuboidal tank = 62,000 litres

Length = 2.5 m

Depth (height) = 10 m

Formula Used:

1 litre = 0.001 m3

Volume of cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height

Solution:

Convert capacity into cubic metres:

= 62,000 × 0.001 = 62 m3

Now,

62 = 2.5 × breadth × 10

Breadth = 622.5×10=6225=2.48 m\frac{62}{2.5 \times 10} = \frac{62}{25} = 2.48 \, m
