Question

The number of bricks, which will be required to make a wall which is 8m long, 6m high and 22.5 cm thick if each brick measures 25 cm ×11.25 cm × 6 cm is

A.

6200

B.

6300

C.

6400

D.

6500

Correct option is C

Given:

Length of wall = 8 m

Height of wall = 6  m

Thickness of wall = 22.5 cm

Size of one brick = 25cm × 11.25cm × 6 cm

Formula Used:

Volume of cuboid = Length×Breadth×Height\text{Length} \times \text{Breadth} \times \text{Height}

Solution:

8 m = 800 cm

6 m = 600 cm

Thickness = 22.5 cm

Volume of wall = 800×600×22.5=10,800,000 cm3800 \times 600 \times 22.5 = 10,800,000 \text{ cm}^3

Volume of one brick = 25×11.25×6=1687.5 cm325 \times 11.25 \times 6 = 1687.5 \text{ cm}^3

Number of bricks = 10,800,0001687.5\frac{10,800,000}{1687.5} = 6400
