The average expenditure of a person for first five months is Rs.1700 and next seven months is Rs.1800. If he saves
Rs.2900 in these twelve months, then what is the average monthly income of the person?

A.

Rs.1750

B.

Rs.1850

C.

Rs.1950

D.

Rs.2000

Correct option is D

Given :-
The average expenditure of a person for first five months is Rs.1700
For next seven months is Rs.1800
Solution:-
Expenditure for first 5 months =1700×5=8500 Rs.
Expenditure for next 7 months = 1800×7=12,600 Rs.
Total expenditure for 12 months = 8500+12,600=21,100 Rs.
Total income =Total expenditure + Savings=21,100+2900=24,000 Rs.
Average monthly income =24,00012=2,000\frac{24,000}{12} = 2,000
Thus, the correct answer is option (d) 2,000
