The areas of three surfaces of a cuboid are 10 m2, 18 m2, and 20 m2. What is the volume(in m3) of the cuboid.
    Question

The areas of three surfaces of a cuboid are 10 m2, 18 m2, and 20 m2. What is the volume(in m3) of the cuboid.

    A.

    48

    B.

    36

    C.

    56

    D.

    60

    Correct option is D

    Given:

    Areas of three surfaces of a cuboid = 10 m2, 18 m2, and 20 m2

    Formula Used:

Volume of cuboid = Length × Breadth × Height

    Solution:

The area of the three faces of a cuboid can be represented as:

Area of the first face = Length × Breadth = 10

Area of the second face = Breadth × Height  = 18

Area of the third face = Length × Height  = 20

    Multiply the three equations:

    (Length × Breadth × Height)2  = 10 × 18 × 20

    (Length × Breadth × Height)= 3600

    Length × Breadth × Height = 3600\sqrt{3600} = 60

Thus, the volume of the cuboid is 60 m3
