Find the area of the right angled triangle if the longest side of a right angled triangle is 17 cm and the height is 15 cm.
Question

Find the area of the right angled triangle if the longest side of a right angled triangle is 17 cm and the height is 15 cm.

A.

54 cm²

B.

56 cm²

C.

60 cm²

D.

58 cm²

Correct option is C

Given:

Longest Side ( Hypotenuse) = 17 cm.
 Height = 15 cm.

Formula Used:
Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

Solution:
Base (b) = √(17² - 15²) = √(289 - 225) = √64 = 8 cm.
Area = ½ × 8 × 15 = 60 cm².
