Area of the first triangle is 420 $$cm^2$$​ and its base is 60 cm, whereas, area of the second triangle is 1500 $$cm^2$$​and its base is 7.5 cm. What will be the ratio of the height of the first triangle to that of the second triangle?

Given:

Area of first triangle = 420 cm²

Base of first triangle = 60cm

Area of second triangle = 1500cm²

Base of second triangle = 7.5cm

Formula Used:

Area of a triangle = $$\frac{1}{2} \times Base \times Height$$​​

Solution: 

Let the  height of the first triangle is $$H_1$$​​

Area of first triangle =$$\frac{1}{2} \times 60 \times H_1 = 420$$​​

​$$H_1 = 14cm$$​​

Area of first triangle = $$\frac{1}{2} \times 7.5 \times H_2 = 1500$$​​

​$$H_2 =400cm$$​​

Ratio of height of first triangles to second triangle = $$\frac{14}{400}= 7:200$$​​
