Given:

Distance =1800 m

Time taken by athlete =12min

Formula Used:

Speed =  DistanceTime\ \frac{Distance}{Time}​​

Solution:

Time taken  =12×6012\times 60 ​= 720sec

Speed  = 1800720=2.5 m/sec \frac{1800}{720} = 2.5\ m/sec​​

Speed in km/hr = 2.5×185=9 km/hr 2.5 \times \frac{18}{5} = \bf 9 \ km/hr​​
