Lokesh travels from City A to City B. If Lokesh drives his car at 3/4 of his normal speed, then he reaches City B 24 minutes late. Find the time (in minutes) that Lokesh would have taken to travel from City A to City B if he drove at his normal speed.

Given:

Reduced speed = 34\frac{3}{4}​ of normal speed

Delay = 24 minutes

Concept Used:

When speed is reduced, time increases.

If speed becomes 34\frac{3}{4}​, then time becomes 43\frac{4}{3}​ times

Solution:

Let normal time taken = t minutes

Then new time = 43t\frac{4}{3}t​  minutes

Difference in time = 43tt=13t\frac{4}{3}t - t = \frac{1}{3}t ​​

Now, 

13t=24 t=24×3=72\frac{1}{3}t = 24 \\ \ \\ t = 24 \times 3 = 72​​

Time taken at normal speed = 72 minutes
