Question

ABC is a right angled triangle. A circle is inscribed in it. The length of the two sides containing the right angle are 10 cm and 24 cm. find the radius of the circle.

A.

5 cm

B.

3 cm

C.

2 cm

D.

4 cm

Correct option is D

Given:

ABC is a right-angled triangle.

A circle is inscribed in it.

The length of the two sides containing the right angle are 10 cm and 24 cm

Formula used:

Inradius(r)=P+BH2Inradius (r) = \frac{P+B-H}{2}

Solution:

Hypotenuse² = 10² + 24²    (Pythagoras theorem)

Hypotenuse = √676 = 26

Radius of the circle inside a triangle inradius (r)

=> (10 + 24 - 26)/2

=> 8/2

=> 4

Hence, correct answer is option (d).
