Total work=44 men×48 days=2112 mandays.Total \ work= 44 \ men \times 48 \ days = 2112 \ man-days. 

Let the required number of men be xxx to complete the same work in 8 days.

The total work remains the same (2112 man-days)

x×8=2112x \times 8 = 2112 

x=21128x = \frac{2112}{8} 

x=264 menx = 264 \ men 

The number of men required to complete the work in 8 days is 264 men.
