Let one day efficiency of a man be x unit/day and a woman is y unit/day
ATQ, 20x ×24 = 24y ×48
20x = 48x
x : y = 12 : 5
Now let, x = 12u and y = 5u
Total work = 20× 12u ×24 = 5760u unit
Total work done by 20 men in 12 days =20× 12u ×12 = 2880u unit
Remaining work = 5760u – 2880u = 2880u unit
Required women = 2880u/(5u×8) = 72
