The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has announced the TNPSC Group 2 Exam Date 2025 along with the detailed notification PDF on its website. Through this exam, a total of 645 vacancies include 50 for Group A and 595 for Group 2A posts to be filled by candidates who will clear the stages as part of the selection process.
All candidates who applied or are applying must check the exam date, schedule and other details. The TNPSC Group 2 Written Exam will be conducted on 28 September 2025 at multiple locations across the state.
TNPSC Group 2 Exam Date 2025 Out
The TNPSC will recruit the eligible candidates for Group 2 & 2A posts by conducting the exam based on various stages, such as prelims, mains and interview, etc. The Preliminary Written Examination for Group 2 & 2A services is the same, and it is scheduled on 28 September 2025 at various exam venues throughout the state.Â
After shortlisting the candidates from the preliminary examinations, the TNPSC will conduct the main examination, but this main examination will be conducted separately for Group 2 and Group 2A posts, followed by an interview stage (only for Group 2 posts). The Combined Civil Service Examination for Group 2 & 2A posts will be held in offline mode in various shifts.
Group 2 & 2A Exam 2025
In the TNPSC Group 2 Written Exam, the recruitment authority will ask a total of 200 questions that carry 300 marks. These questions are based on important subjects that will be asked in the exam, such as General Tamil or General English, General Studies, Mental Ability and Aptitude Test, etc. All the candidates who will appear in the Group 2 Prelims Exam must start their preparation and create strategies according to the TNPSC Group 2 Exam Date 2025, so that they could clear the exam.

TNPSC Group 2 Prelims Written Exam Pattern

There is no negative marking, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. Also, note that the level of these subjects is SSLC-based.
