Telangana Govt Increases Upper Age Limit by 10 Years for Direct Recruitment 2026

The Telangana Government has announced a major relief for government job aspirants by increasing the upper age limit for direct recruitment by 10 years. The decision was issued through G.O.Ms.No.86 by the General Administration (Services-A) Department on 18 May 2026.  This move has brought new hop and motivation among candidates across the state. Telangana Govt Increases Upper Age Limit by 10 Years

According to the notification, the maximum age limit has been increased from 34 years to 44 years for direct recruitment in government jobs in the state. The relaxation will remain valid for one year from the date of issuance of the order.

This decision has been taken receiving several representations from unemployed youth requesting relaxation in the age criteria. The government stated that the move will help more unemployed candidates become eligible to participate in the recruitment process and get opportunities in government services.

Who Can Benefits ?

The relaxation will benefit candidates apply for Telangana government direct recruitment jobs. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will also continue to receive additional age relaxation as per existing government rules. However , this benefit will not apply to Uniform services such as Police, Excise, Fire Services, Prisons, and Forest Department Recruitments.

Big Relief for Youth

The Telangana Government issued this notification under the powers granted by Article 309 of the constitution of India. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of unemployed youth who became overage due to delays in recruitment notifications over the past few years.
