SSC Stenographer Preference Form 2026 Out @ssc.gov.in, Direct Link Active

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued an official notice on 5th May 2026 on its official website regarding the SSC Steno Option-Cum-Preference process. Candidates who appeared for the Skill Test for Steno Grade C and D Exam, 2025 are now required to submit their preference for posts and departments through their Candidate Login. The window is active from 5th to 8th May 2026 (6 PM).

The SSC Steno Option cum preference window has been activated so as to receive preferences from the candidates before the First Round Tentative Allocation (FRTA). Before locking preferences, candidates must ensure they meet the required Physical and Medical Standards of the chosen posts. If a candidate is later found medically/physically unfit for the allotted post, the candidature may be cancelled by the department.

Who Must Fill the SSC Steno Preference Form?

Candidates falling in the following categories must submit the preference form before 8th May 2026:

1. Candidates shortlisted from Paper-I and who appeared in the Skill Test.
2. Candidates seeking consideration in FRTA/Final Selection
3. PwBD candidates, with extra caution to choose only suitable posts

Failure to submit preferences within the window will exclude the candidate from FRTA. No further opportunity will be given.

How to Submit SSC Steno Option-cum-Preference?

1. Visit the SSC official website and log in to your Candidate Dashboard
2. Go to My Application tab
3. Select Option-cum-Preference for Stenographer Grade C & D 2025
4. Arrange Post(s)/Department(s) in your order of preference
5. Click SUBMIT (this step is mandatory)
6. You may revise choices only within the active window; the last submitted order will be treated as final
7. If you don’t click SUBMIT, your preferences will not be recorded

Important Instructions for PwBD Candidates

PwBD candidates should choose only those posts that are marked as suitable for their disability in the exam notice and corrigendum. If a candidate is allotted a post that is not suitable, the concerned department can cancel their selection. So, it is important to check the suitability carefully before submitting your preferences.

What Happens If You Don’t Submit?

If any candidate do not submit their preference, then they will not be considered for FRTA/Result and no request via email/post/fax/by hand will be entertained. This is a one-time mandatory activity for eligible candidates.

Candidates of SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ 2025 who appeared in the Skill Test must treat the Option-cum-Preference submission as urgent and compulsory.
