SSC Nursing Posts Selection Process 2026
The SSC follows a multi-stage selection process to ensure fair and merit-based recruitment. Candidates must clear each stage to proceed further.
Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)
Candidates will face a CBE composed of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions. There are three separate examinations depending on the minimum educational qualification of the post: Matriculation Level, Higher Secondary (10+2) Level, and Graduation & above.
Stage 2: Shortlisting & Online Scrutiny
Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage based on their CBE scores and merit.
- Shortlisting Ratios: 1:30 for categories with up to 5 vacancies; 1:15 for categories with more than 5 vacancies (subject to a minimum of 150).
- Shortlisted candidates must upload self-attested copies of all supporting documents (Educational Qualification, Experience, Category, Age, etc.) on the Commission’s website for scrutiny.
Stage 3: Skill Test
If a specific post requires a skill test (like typing or data entry), it will be conducted for candidates who pass the scrutiny stage. These tests are of a qualifying nature.
Stage 4: Document Verification (DV)
