NBEMS Recruitment Selection Process

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will select eligible candidates through a multi-stage recruitment process designed to assess both subject knowledge and practical skills. Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final appointment.

  • Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT) – 200 Marks
  • Stage 2: Computer Knowledge/Skill Test – 100 Marks

Only candidates who perform well in the CBT will be shortlisted for the Skill Test, as applicable to the respective post. Final selection will be subject to qualifying the required stages and verification of documents.

  • The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • The paper will comprise 200 objective-type (MCQ) questions.

  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for UR/OBC/EWS candidates and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates.
