The recruitment of the candidates for the position of ANM will be done based on the marks attained by the candidates in an Online Computer-Based Test and the prior work experience of candidates. The official notification highlights the entire selection process, but reading the notification might be confusing for candidates. Bihar ANM Selection Process 2025 Stages
Each candidates applying must clear all stages of the selection procedure to secure their position amongst the selected candidates. The stages in the selection process are briefly mentioned below:

Bihar ANM Selection Process Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The Bihar ANM Selection Process includes an online Computer-Based Test (CBT). Although the CBT will be of 60 marks, its weightage in the final merit list will be considered as 80 marks out of 100. The remaining 20 marks will come from the work experience evaluation. This means your raw marks will be proportionally converted to fit into the 80-mark weightage system.
- Total Marks: The CBT carries 60 marks.
- Question Format: The test will have 60 objective-type questions, each worth 1 mark.
- Languages: The exam will be available in both Hindi and English.
- Time Duration: Candidates will get 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete the exam.
- Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking, so candidates can attempt all questions without fear of losing marks.
- Normalization: If the exam is held in multiple shifts, scores will be adjusted using the normalization process to ensure fairness.
- Weightage of Marks: The marks obtained in the CBT will be multiplied by a factor of 0.8 to calculate the final weightage. For example, if a candidate scores 30 marks or (50% marks), their weightage will be 40 (50% × 0.8).
Bihar ANM Selection Process Work Experience Evaluation
As per the official notification, candidates will be awarded additional marks for their work experience. This helps to give preference to those who have already worked in healthcare services. The work experience evaluation will be done as follows:
- Marks per Year: Candidates will get 5 marks for each year of work experience.
- Maximum Marks: A maximum of 20 marks can be awarded for work experience.
- Eligible Experience: Only experience on the post of ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) will be counted, specifically for those who worked provisionally under contingency and temporary arrangements for the prevention and control of COVID-19.
- Part-Year Experience: For experience less than one year, marks will be calculated proportionally. This will be done by multiplying the number of working days by 05 and then dividing by 365.
Bihar ANM Selection Process Document Verification
Candidates who qualify the Computer-Based Test will have to appear for document verification. They must carry original documents along with one self-attested copy. The documents required for document verification are listed below:
- Application form & Admit Card
- Passport-size photos
- ID proof (Aadhar/PAN/Voter ID etc.)
- Matriculation certificate (DOB proof)
- Educational & registration certificates
- Caste/Reservation/Disability/Work Experience certificates (if applicable)
