What is the Eligibility Criteria?
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age limit, language and computer-related requirements to apply for the Field Assistant (Statistics)/Enumerator post.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must fulfil any one of the following educational requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any subject with at least one paper in Statistics,
- Economics, Mathematics, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology at the graduate level; or
- A Bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard.
Language Requirement
Candidates must have studied:
- English, and
- At least one of the local languages — Assamese, Bengali or Bodo — as subjects during HSLC.
Computer Qualification
Candidates must have knowledge of computers and be comfortable with keying data through a handheld device.
They must also qualify and upload a Computer Course Certificate of at least six months’ duration obtained from a Government-recognised institute.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age will be calculated as on 1 January 2026.
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
The upper age limit is relaxable according to the existing provisions for reserved categories. The notification specifies:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
