How Many Vacancies Are Released?

A total of 1,251 Livestock Extension Officer vacancies have been announced. Of these, 1,248 vacancies are for the regular Livestock Extension Officer post, while 3 vacancies are under Special Selection.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria?

Candidates must fulfill the prescribed educational and age requirements to apply for the recruitment.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have:

• Passed Intermediate (10+2) with Biology or an equivalent examination recognized by the government.
• Possess a two-year Diploma in Livestock Extension from a recognized Veterinary University/College.

Preferential Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates who:

• Have served in the Territorial Army for at least two years.
• Hold an NCC ‘B’ Certificate.
• Have served continuously for five years as a Veterinary Dresser (Class I & II) in the Remount Veterinary Corps and have passed High School with Science or Agriculture.

Age Limit

The age of candidates will be calculated as on July 1, 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories as per the applicable government rules.

Who Can Apply for This Recruitment?

The recruitment is specifically for candidates who appeared in PET-2025 and received a PET-2025 scorecard. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their normalized PET-2025 score.

Candidates having a zero or negative PET score will not be shortlisted. The Commission will shortlist candidates category-wise in a 1:15 ratio for the Main Examination.

The selection process consists of two major stages:

1. PET-2025-based shortlisting
2. Main Written Examination

Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their normalized PET-2025 scores. The shortlisted candidates will then appear for the Main Examination. Final selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in the Main Examination.
