WBCS 2024 Vacancy
WBCS 2024 Vacancy: WBCS 2024 Vacancy will be notified by WBPCS after the completion of the whole WBCS 2024 Recruitment process. Where 10% is reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) out of total vacancies. WBCS 2024 Exam Pattern
WBCS 2024 Exam Pattern: The WBCS 2023 Exam is conducted in 3 stages: Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test. The Prelims stage is qualifying in nature. The candidates who clear the Prelims exam can only be admitted for the Mains exam stage. The Prelims exam will be of Objective Type and the Mains exam will be of both objective & Conventional type. Also, there shall be a negative marking. The WBCS Prelims exam only has one GS paper which includes several topics. The Prelims exam is conducted to check the basic knowledge of the candidates. Candidates are advised to prepare for the exam from a general point of view, they are not required to have majored in any subject. The WBCS 2023 Exam pattern is given below:

WBCS 2024 Selection Process
WBCS 2024 Selection Process: WBPSC conducts the WBCS exam for the recruitment of officers for various posts. The whole WBCS Selection Process consists of 3 stages: Prelims, Mains & Interviews. Candidates have to clear each stage in order to reach the final selection stage. The Prelims stage will be of qualifying in nature which means that the Prelims marks will not be added to the final merit list. The Prelims consist of only one GS paper.
The WBCS 2024 Mains exam consists of 6 compulsory papers and One Optional subject Paper which consists of two papers of 200 marks each. The list of Optional subjects is provided by WBPCS on its official website. Candidates can choose any optional subject from the list according to their preferences and interest. The WBCS Mains exam marks will be added along with the WBCS 2023 Personality Test marks to decide the merit list. On the basis of the merit list, the list of the passed candidates will be recommended for the appointment.
