SSC CGL Cut Off 2025, Post-wise Expected Cut Off For SC, ST, OBC and Gen

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the SSC CGL Cut Off 2025 along with the result, expectedly in November 2025. The cut off is the minimum marks that the candidate needs to score to qualify in the test and move to the next. It is determined based on factors like the number of vacancies, difficulty level, normalization process, past year trends, and more. The Tier 1 exam is now over and those who obtain the cut off will be considered qualified. Check the expected cut-off below and know your chances of success.

SSC CGL Cut Off 2025

The Commission will release the SSC CGL 2025 cut-off marks category-wise (SC, ST, OBC, General, and PwD) and post-wise (JSO, Statistical Officer, and Other posts). Once the exam is over, SSC will prepare the SSC CGL Tier 1 Result by applying the normalisation process to stabilise the marks of all candidates who appeared in different shift exams.  Candidates can check the official SSC website for detailed cut-off information once it's announced. But to get an idea, candidates can check the previous year's cut-off marks to know more about the cut-off.

Normalization of SSC CGL Marks

The SSC CGL Tier-I and Tier-II exams are conducted online across multiple shifts spanning several days. To ensure fairness despite variations in exam difficulty across shifts, the Staff Selection Commission implements a score normalization process. This normalization adjusts candidate scores, ensuring that the final SSC CGL Cut Off marks are based on standardized scores across all shifts.

Factors Affecting SSC CGL Cut Off

The factors affecting SSC CGL Cut Off 2025 have been discussed here for the candidates.

  1. Normalization Method: To ensure fairness, the normalization method is used to adjust scores. This method balances the variation in difficulty levels by using a mathematical formula, so that no candidate is at a disadvantage due to a tougher paper. The normalized score becomes the basis for determining the cut off and selection.
  2. Difficulty Level of the Exam: The overall toughness of the exam plays a key role in setting the cut-off marks. If the exam is relatively tough, the cut-off may be lower to accommodate performance trends.
  3. Total Number of Vacancies Available: The number of vacancies directly influences the cut-off. If there are fewer vacancies, the competition increases, resulting in a higher cut-off. Conversely, a larger number of vacancies allows more candidates to qualify, so the cut-off might be slightly lower
  4. Total Number of Candidates Appeared: When a large number of candidates appear for the exam, the competition intensifies. This usually leads to a higher cut-off as only top-performing candidates can make it through. If fewer candidates appear, the cut-off might be more relaxed. The ratio between the number of candidates and the available seats is a significant factor in determining the final cut-off.
